Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data Dinspired collects, why we collect it, how it is used, and the rights you have over your information. We do not sell your data. Ever.

1. Who We Are

2. Data We Collect

Dinspired does not require you to create an account or provide an email address or password. We collect only the data necessary to provide the Dinspired experience:

  • Anonymous Device Identifier: A randomly generated identifier tied to your device — used to sync your preferences, recipes, and subscription status across app sessions without collecting any personal account information
  • Preference Data: Household size, favorite cuisines, dietary preferences, food allergies, disliked ingredients, cooking skill level, preferred cooking time — to personalize your recipe recommendations
  • Pantry Data: Ingredients selected or manually entered in the Pantry screen — to power “Use What I Have” recommendations and skip pantry items when generating shopping lists
  • Recipe Activity: Saved recipes, mood selections, shopping list items — to power your Favorites, Shopping List, and recipe recommendations
  • Subscription Data: Your subscription status (active, trial, lapsed, or cancelled) is confirmed directly through Apple's or Google's purchase system and linked to your anonymous device identifier — we do not collect or store any payment or billing details ourselves
  • Device & Usage Data: Device type, OS version, app version, crash reports (if opted in through device settings) — to improve app stability and performance

We do not collect: your name, email address, precise GPS location, contacts, browsing history, photos, biometric data, payment card information, or any information unrelated to your Dinspired experience.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect exclusively to:

  • Create and maintain your anonymous device profile
  • Generate personalized AI dinner recipes based on your preferences, mood selections, and pantry ingredients
  • Save your favorite recipes
  • Generate and manage your shopping lists
  • Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics (only if opted in through device settings)
  • Respond to your support requests

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell your data to third parties, and do not share your data with marketing partners.

4. AI-Generated Content and Data

Dinspired uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized dinner recipes based on the preferences and mood selections you provide. The following data is sent to our AI model to generate recipes: your dietary preferences, favorite cuisines, food allergies, disliked ingredients, cooking skill level, preferred cooking time, selected mood, and pantry ingredients. This data is used solely to generate recipe content and is not stored by the AI model beyond the scope of each generation request.

5. Subscription and Payment Data

All subscription payments are processed through Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android), tied to your Apple ID or Google Account and confirmed directly on your device. Tethered Tech, LLC does not receive, store, or access your payment card number, billing address, or any other financial details. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status (active, trial, lapsed, or cancelled) and billing dates, linked to your anonymous device identifier to manage your access to the App.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • ai: Our app development and hosting platform providing backend infrastructure, cloud database, and AI model integration. Data is processed under their data processing agreement.
  • Apple / Google: For subscription billing and purchase confirmation, subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority.

No other third parties receive your data.

7. Data Security

We protect your data with encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and private, access-controlled cloud storage. Your anonymous device identifier is stored securely on your device. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, but we commit to notifying affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.

8. Your Privacy Rights

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of all data associated with your device that we hold
  • Right to Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data through the app's profile and preference settings
  • Right to Deletion: Permanently delete all data associated with your device via Delete My Data in the App, or by uninstalling the app
  • Right to Data Portability: Request an export of your recipe history and preferences
  • Right to Opt Out: Opt out of analytics at any time through your device settings

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know what information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. Contact us at info@tethtech.org to exercise your California privacy rights.

10. Children’s Privacy

Dinspired is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app on their device, contact us immediately at info@tethtech.org.

11. Data Retention

We retain your data while the App remains installed and in use on your device. If you use Delete My Data in the App, or uninstall the App, all data associated with your device — including preferences, saved recipes, shopping lists, and pantry data — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date and where appropriate by sending a notification through the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
